First Photoshoot of 2023
Capturing two special DC moments at once!
Happy New Year! Some of my resolutions are: writing more, posting more videos, and pushing my photography business forward! Why not do all of those at once?
To kick off my creativity-driven year, I want to share my first trip and photo shoot of 2023.
On January 1st, my husband and I drove to Washington DC to capture my cousin Jackie’s boyfriend Garry’s Navy promotion ceremony. When we arrived, we headed straight to Theodore Roosevelt Island.
When the man of the hour got there, he ran me through the itinerary for the afternoon. It was going to be a short ceremony, including his loved ones each replacing parts of his uniform with his new, Commander garb.
He got a little closer and quietly told me he had a ring in his pocket and was planning to propose at the end of the ceremony. As a photographer, this would have been exciting all on its own, but as a cousin, it was even more exciting.
